About Me | The Tech Behind Danger Close Customs
From backyard battles to professional airsoft tech work — built on passion, persistence, and precision.
I started airsoft in 2010 when I was ten years old, playing pretend military with my friends. Back then, we didn’t even realize airsoft was an organized sport — we just bought cheap springers and spent every afternoon running around the backyard. Once we learned it was a real game, my interest grew fast.
By middle school, I started researching higher-quality replicas, but money was tight. I worked every day after school, raking leaves and doing odd jobs, until I finally saved enough to buy my first AEG — a King Arms M4. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a lemon. That mix of frustration and curiosity drove me to take it apart and figure out how it worked. From that point forward, I was hooked.
I began experimenting with upgrades and repairs, constantly chasing perfection. My friends started calling me “the tech,” and before long, their broken guns always ended up on my workbench.
During high school, when “sniper gameplay” videos were everywhere, I bought a VSR-10 clone and began modifying it to my own standard. Later, I saved for months to buy a Tokyo Marui NGRS. I eventually sent it to a tech for upgrades, but after a year of waiting, it came back barely functional. That experience taught me one of the most important lessons in this trade — how not to be a tech.
After high school, I joined the United States Marine Corps. Even while serving, I found time to host airsoft games when I was home and continued to build and tune replicas for myself and friends.
When my contract ended in 2024, I realized I wanted to take my passion full-time. Friends were still reaching out for help with builds, and I decided to make it official. I invested in proper tools, sourced high-quality parts, and set up a small shop dedicated to professional airsoft tech work.
What started as a hobby has grown into Danger Close Customs — a professional airsoft service built on precision, reliability, and craftsmanship. Every replica that leaves my bench reflects the same standard I’ve held since day one: build it right, make it last, and never cut corners.
